Getting Involved: Our Ministires
Ongoing: Food Pantry Donations
Our local food pantries are experiencing unprecented demands. Would you please consider bringing non-perishable food items to Sunday service as a food offering? All it takes is doing a little to makea big difference. Jesus said "... Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me." You can deposit the food in the basket in the back of the church. The food is delivered to the ISSI Pantry Shelf and the Holbrook Food Pantry.
Winthrop Congregational Church has partnered with Friendship House in Norwell to host Friendship Club, a social gathering for the developmentally disabled, ages 22 and over. The club meets every other Wednesday at our church downstairs from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. For information, please call the church.
Ongoing: Community Engagement
We want to make sure no one is forgotten. We strive to visit those who are forgotten in nursing homes, hospitals, and even elderly in their own homes. We also work with the Town of Holbrook and other Churches to tend to the needs of the community on a physical, emotional, and spiritual level. We hope you will join us in this ministry that Jesus wants us to be know by the way we love!
Wednesdays: Prayer Group and Bible Study
Please Join us in praying for people in need of prayers, the community, our nation and any concerns you may have! We also dive into scripture to see how the Lord can enrich your life and the world! Open to members and non-members alike.
We meet on Saturday mornings downstairs in the Worship Hall at 9am. We could always use more instruments or more vocals. We are in our early stages of getting a good library together of songs that could be used to lead the congregation in worship. Feel free to contact Joe Thompson at 508.561.7536 if you have any questions.
Please join us in any of these ministires. We would love to have you!
One of the most important things we as the Body of Christ can do is be there for one another. "When two or three gather in my name, there I am with them." Matthew 18:20. What we need is volunteers to run coffee hour, bring and prepare some snacks and the coffee.
