Getting Involved: Our Ministires
Ongoing: Food Pantry Donations
Our local food pantries are experiencing unprecented demands. Would you please consider bringing non-perishable food items to Sunday service as a food offering? All it takes is doing a little to makea big difference. Jesus said "... Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me." You can deposit the food in the basket in the back of the church. The food is delivered to the ISSI Pantry Shelf and the Holbrook Food Pantry.
Winthrop Congregational Church has partnered with Friendship House in Norwell to host Friendship Club, a social gathering for the developmentally disabled, ages 22 and over. The club meets every other Wednesday at our church downstairs from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. For information, please call the church.
Seasonal Meetings: Bible Study
Bible Study programs are offered throughout the year to offer guidance and fellowship in our journey with God. Days and times vary depending on the season and teachers' availability. Call the church office for the details of when our latest study group is meeting. Open to members and non-members alike.
Wednesdays: Ladies' Lunch and Book Group
We come together at noon on Wednesdays, have lunch, and then read and discuss a spiritual book. Occasionally we host a luncheon show a movie. All ladies are welcome to show up and join us!
We meet on Monday nights downstairs in the Worship Hall at 6:00pm. We could always use more instruments or more vocals. We are in our early stages of getting a good library together of songs that could be used to lead the congregation in worship. Feel free to contact Alexa Thompson at 508.208.2017 if you have any questions.
Please join us in any of these ministires. We would love to have you!
One of the most important things we as the Body of Christ can do is be there for one another. "When two or three gather in my name, there I am with them." Matthew 18:20. What we need is volunteers to run coffee hour, bring and prepare some snacks and the coffee.
